One of the EAK’s most fundamental tasks is to provide consumers with targeted information and educational services. After all, the best way to encourage consumers to take responsible action is to help them see and understand for themselves that used batteries and electrical and electronic equipment contain valuable raw materials and hazardous elements that must be collected, disposed of and recycled separately.
Raising public awareness is a long-term process, and ongoing efforts are essential to helping people form sustainable and responsible habits. Without the support of skilled partners and a large network, Austria couldn’t have achieved its status as a European leader in terms of the volume of waste electrical and electronic equipment it collects and recycles each year.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners for their commitment and enthusiastic support, which were essential to getting the EAK’s school kit project off the ground.
